Wendy Cohen brings more than 30 years of experience in strategic planning, fiscal management, and organizational and programmatic assessment. She has spent her career focused on building stronger communities. Most recently Wendy worked as the senior director of services for Duet: Partners In Health & Aging. Prior to joining Duet, she served as executive director of Experience Matters and interim executive director for the Phoenix Girls Chorus.
For over 20 years Wendy served as a vice president at the American Gastroenterological Association where she focused on health policy issue, strategic planning, consensus building and business development. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Health and Society from the University of Rochester and a Master of Public Health, with a business concentration, from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry.
Wendy’s mother was born in Tel Aviv and arrived in the United States at age seven with other family who fled Europe. She grew up learning first-hand about family members who did not “make it out” and the lasting impact it had on her relatives throughout their lives. When she and her husband raised their family it was important to them to share a rich Jewish heritage as members of Temple Micah in Washington, DC.
A New York native and recent Maryland transplant, Wendy loves the beauty of her newly adopted home of Arizona and spends her free time hiking, volunteering or hanging out with her husband Jeffrey and rescue dog, Cleo. She and her husband have a son who lives in Washington, DC and a daughter who is a college student in California. The entire family shares a passion for the environment.
