Welcome to Temple Chai Early Childhood Center Summer Camp! We are so thrilled that you have chosen the ECC as your summer home! We will be providing an engaging, high-quality, exciting, and safe camp that your child will enjoy all summer long! We know you may have questions about how this summer will operate and so please refer to this Info guide for answers or call the ECC at 602-923-3619.
Activity Schedule
Throughout summer camp, your child will have a variety of activities. We will provide every family with an age appropriate activity schedule closer to the summer.
This schedule will contain things such as: water play, Shabbat, indoor playground, Art Studio, and more!
Brightwheel Parent Communication App
Here at the TCECC we use an app called Brightwheel for many of our daily needs, including parent communication, sign in/out and billing. Once enrolled, parents will be sent a link to download the app onto their phones. Parents will receive communication from administration and classroom staff, including potty updates, pictures, and incident reports.
The billing cycle for summer is as follows: Payment for June weeks of camp will be charged on May 15th Payment for July weeks of camp will be charged on June 15th
Days/Hours
Camp will begin Tuesday, May 28th and continue through to Wednesday, July 24th. Hours of Operation are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM (Half day option 9:00am-1:00pm is available on request) Note: Camp will be closed 5/27, 6/19, 7/4, 7/5. Last day of camp is Wednesday 7/24.
Drop Off/Pick Up
All families will be given key fob access to get into the ECC building for drop and pick up their child. We ask that you respect the flow of the day and drop off within a reasonable time so that we can begin our day as a whole group.
Forms
Registration for Summer Camp 2024 will need to be completed and sent to ebakke and [email protected]. Once that is received by our front office, you will be sent additional documents to fill out that include emergency contact forms, and getting to know you forms. Campers will not be admitted into camp unless all required forms, and current immunizations recorded are returned before the first day of camp.
If your child displays sign of illness they will be removed from their classroom and will be brought to ECC office. Parents will be notified immediately and required to pick-up their camper within 30 minutes. If we are unable to reach a parent within 30 minutes, we will begin calling emergency contacts. Below are some of the common illnesses that require children to be sent home:
Fever: If a child has a fever above 100.0°F in both ears, children will be sent home and may not return to camp until they are fever free for 24 hours without the use of medication.*
Vomiting: If a child vomits 2 or more times they will be sent home, and may not return to camp until they are free of all symptoms for 24 hours without the use of medication.*
Diarrhea: If a child has diarrhea 2 times, and it is not causes to a dietary issues or the use of antibiotics, they will be sent home. They may not return to camp until they are free of all symptoms for 24 hours without the use of medication.*
Signs of Pink Eye, Head Lice, Rashes or other communicable disease: Children with signs of pink eye, head lice, or any communicable disease may not return to school without a doctors’ note stating they are not contagious.
*Please Note: Overnight is NOT considered 24 hours*
Meals
Families are responsible for providing a lunch, and 2-snacks a day for their children. All food provided for lunch and snacks must be nut-free , and can not contain pork or shellfish.
Medication
If your child is in need of medication throughout the camp day, please contact [email protected] for a medication consent form. This document is required for both prescribed and over the counter medication. For administration to administer any type of medication, the form must be filled out completely, all medication must come in the original packaging and must not be expired. When turning in the consent form and medication, be sure to take it out of your child’s backpack and hand it directly to an administrative member.
Nap Time
Infants will have individualized sleeping schedules. For children in the Ones room through Twos- nap will occur from 1-3pm every day. The threes class will have quiet time during this time. Quiet activities will be provided, as well as an option to nap if the child would like. All children are required to bring a sheet for their nap mat and participate in "rest time".
Packing
Some items listed below will be expected to stay in your child’s classroom, and some items are expected to be brought daily.
A backpack (daily)
Lunch (daily)
Snacks (daily)
A re-useable water bottle (daily)
A bathing suit (only on water play days)
A towel (only on water play days)
Water shoes (only on water play days)
Sunscreen (will be kept in classroom)
Plastic Bag for wet clothes (pack in backpack each water play day)
2 Extra changes of clothes (will be kept in classroom)
Diapers, wipes, diaper cream (if needed)
Napping items, such as sheet and blanket (will keep in class and return home on Friday)
ALL ITEMS MUST BE LABELED WITH FIRST AND LAST NAME
For infants only:
Clean empty bottles (daily)
A can of formula (teachers will let you know when to replenish) or breast milk- please bring enough for each day or more to store in the fridge/freezer
Diapers/Wipes/Creams if needed
You can bring your own crib sheet and will keep in class and return home on Friday or we can provide you one that we will wash on-site
2 Extra changes of clothes (will be kept in classroom)
Sunscreen and a hat that can be worn in the stroller when taken on walks (will be kept in classroom)

Sunscreen
Please apply your child's sunscreen prior to leaving the house. Be sure to leave a labeled bottle in your child's classroom, and staff will reapply throughout the day.
Teaching Staff
While consistency is of the utmost importance to us, many of our teachers do take much needed vacations during the summer time. Due to this, there may be a temporary change of teacher in your child's class. We will do our best to give as much advanced notice as possible so that children can be prepared for a difference in their routine.
