Youth engagement is an important part of our culture at Temple Chai. In addition to our wonderful religious school programs that teach our young people about Judaism, we also want our youth to see Temple Chai as a safe and fun space to be themselves and build community with their Jewish peers.
TCTY - Temple Chai Temple Youth
TCTY 5/6 – for 5th and 6th Graders TCTY 5/6 is our youngest youth group that program meets about four times per year with the other reform youth from the Phoenix area. We meet for both social and tikkun olam events.
TCTY 7/8- for 7th and First semester 8th Graders TCTY 7/8 is our junior high youth group. They meet about four times per year with the other reform youth groups from the valley. TCTY – 9th-12th Graders (plus 2nd semester 8th graders) Temple Chai’s High School youth group meets regularly for social, leadership development, tikkun olam, and religious events. This is a great opportunity to provide your teens with another connection to Temple Chai and a Jewish teen community post B’nai Mitzvah.
TCTY is part of the NFTY West “Area” NFTY-SW, one of the nineteen regions that make up NFTY, the youth movement of the Union for Reform Judaism. NFTY-SW encompasses Arizona, New Mexico, Utah, El Paso, and Las Vegas, and is now part of the greater NFTY West "Area," which will now have events included with NFTY CWR (central west region), NFTY SOCAL (Southern California), and NFTY NW (northwest). NFTY offers Reform Jewish high school students an opportunity to learn, worship and create lifelong friendships within a youth-led environment.
