Shabbat

Everyone is welcome at Shabbat.

Kabbalat Shabbat Services

Friday evening, beginning with a light nosh at 5:30pm—a chance to grab a bite and say hello, followed by a meaningful service at 6:15pm.

New to Temple Chai or joining us for the first time?

Whether you’re exploring your Jewish identity, new to the area, or just curious, you are welcome here.

Our Shabbat Services

  • Friday Kabbalat Shabbat: We invite you to join us for Kabbalat Shabbat every Friday evening, starting with a light drop-in nosh at 5:30pm, followed by the service at 6:15pm.
  • Prayer Lab: Informal. Accessible. Personal. Our Prayer Lab service is for all those who want to delve more deeply into the Shabbat experience. We take the powerful themes of Shabbat “off the bimah,” and put them into your hands for personal contemplation and inspiration. Prayer Lab services are welcoming for beginners and thought-provoking for those already comfortable with prayer.
  • Shabbat AM!: Join us on Shabbat morning services on selected Saturdays throughout the year.  All are welcome to join us as we sing and pray together, hear Torah read, and learn from the Torah portion.  The schedule can be found on our calendar here
  • Tot Shabbat:Held on the first friday of the month at 5:00pm, Tot Shabbat is for the youngest members of our community from birth through preschool, with older siblings and family members welcome!  Join us for songs, prayers, stories, and blessings, all in 30 minutes or less.  Tot Shabbat is followed by a free Pizza dinner and snacks for all.
