View Live Stream of High Holy Days Services

Registration and tickets are required for all services.

We are excited to welcome the community to attend  services with us this year! In our ongoing effort to be efficient, reduce the need for paper mailings, and make strides in reducing costs, we are going digital for High Holy Days registration and ticketing process.  Below is the “High Holy Day Registration Form.” This form was built on our ShulCloud database system and will require Members to be logged in to their ShulCloud accounts to access the Member’s portion of the form. This same form is available to guests without log-in required and is constructed so that guests will not see member-specific information.

We ask that everyone please fill out the form online first before requesting a hard copy. If you do need a hard copy, please contact Sheana Abrams at sabrams@templechai.com. Also note that tickets will be sent to members who have filled out the registration form AND have made a financial contribution (or created a payment plan) to their membership commitment for 2022-2023 by September 16, 2022.

S'lichot

September 17, 2022
6:30 pm - Dessert Reception, Havdalah, Study Session and Service

S’lichot is a special service that begins the High Holy Day season in earnest. It is a meaningful and spiritual service of introspection, a taste of High Holy Day melodies, study, and the presence of community. Of particular meaning is the tradition of changing the Torah covers during this service to their majestic white for the holidays. The service will be led by our clergy, Alan Naplan, and our Adult Choir. The theme for study this year will be “Who Shall Live and Who Shall Die: An Uncomfortable Yet Beautiful Prayer.” Please bring your silver Yom Kippur prayerbook for S’lichot.

Choosing Services for Your Family
At Temple Chai we welcome children of all ages at each of our worship services. We also have planned special services and programs for certain age groups to ensure a meaningful High Holy Day experience for people and families of all ages and life stages. The only service that is restricted to a particular age group is our teen service, where we give our teenagers their own space to create meaningful prayer and spiritual experiences. You know your family best and we encourage you to read through the descriptions of our various services and decide what is best for your family. If you think it would be helpful, we also encourage you to bring quiet (non-electronic) toys, books, or activities for your children to enjoy during the services that are not
directed specifically for their age group. Please also feel free to stand or walk around with them in the rear of the sanctuary, in the sanctuary lobby where the service can be heard, or in the courtyard if a breath of fresh air is needed. Children are a joy in our services, and we welcome them! Please also note that babysitting is available for children from 1-8 years old during selected services (information below).

Babysitting
While children are welcomed in all of our services, we also have babysitting available for children ages 1-8 during select services, detailed below. Reservation is firmly required by September 19th, and the babysitting cost per child is $20 per service. No walk-ins will be available for babysitting. This will ensure quality care can be provided. Please note that space is limited and we encourage you to sign up ASAP if you wish to make use of babysitting during services.

Babysitting will be available during:
• Erev Rosh Hashanah Prayer Lab/Evening Service 7:30 pm
• Rosh Hashanah Morning Service 11:00 am
• Rosh Hashanah Day 2 10:00 am
• Kol Nidre Prayer Lab Service 6:00 pm
• Yom Kippur Morning Service 11:00 am
