A Message from Temple Chai's President
Welcome to Temple Chai!
Whether you are a new or prospective member, one of our many long-standing congregants, or just visiting, I offer a warm welcome to our spiritual home.
Temple Chai was founded almost 36 years ago by a group of congregants who wanted a "hands-on" approach to their spiritual lives. They converted a horse barn into what is now our small sanctuary and began a religious school to educate the next generation. From those humble beginnings to what is now the largest Reform synagogue in Phoenix, we have not lost our small community feeling or the "hands-on" approach to our Judaism.
"People love belonging to Temple Chai" is the first line from our vision statement, taken from the voices of so many congregants who have expressed their connection to our community. Relationships are the basis for connection – relationships with our caring clergy, with parents and students in our Religious School, with members of our choir and within the many groups that thrive and grow here.
Temple Chai is a multi-generational community committed to innovative worship services and prayer; stimulating, exciting and thought provoking education for all ages of our congregants; and engagement and service to the larger Jewish community and to Israel. Our mission is to inspire the robust development of spiritual growth through meaningful study, communal worship, and engagement in Jewish life throughout the year.
Please join us for Friday night services, Saturday morning Shabbat services, or our Torah study groups. I look forward to meeting with you.
With Warm Regards,
Ginny Keller
